Moxie production sets up in London

The US production company Moxie is opening an office in London.

The outfit will initially offer a selection from its US roster, including the directors Frank Todaro, Errol Morris, Jared Hess, Wes Anderson and Jim Sheridan, before signing an undisclosed number of UK names to its books.

The UK office will be run by Dawn Laren, the former managing director of Studio, the production company owned by the directorial team Big TV.

Previously, she was a producer at a number of companies including Godman and The Pink Film Company.

"Our goal is critical acclaim and growing a vibrant and exciting domestic concern with both local and non-UK talent," Laren said.

Moxie was established in New York in 1992 by Dan Levinson. In 2003, he brought in Robert Fernandez, the former executive producer of @radical.media, as president.
