Media Sales and Marketing, the Capital Radio-owned airtime sales

house, is offering pounds 500,000 worth of free airtime as the prize in

a radio advertising creativity competition.

The prize is to be awarded by IRN Newslink, the national sales package

that runs in and around news breaks on independent radio. MSM handles

sales for Newslink.

The initiative is being run in association with Campaign and its sister

title, Marketing. It is open to any brand, product or service new to

radio.

Rob Corlett, network sales manager for MSM, said: ’This is the UK’s

biggest media prize. We are offering the winner some fantastic exposure.

All we ask is for some great creative work that shows up in a news-led

environment.’

To win the prize, creatives are asked to produce an ad for any of their

clients, specifically to run in the Newslink slot. The spot, which can

be from 50 to 70 seconds long, will run solus in the break and at peak

time only. Over the course of the campaign it will reach nearly 50 per

cent of the UK population.

The winning team will also be given a free weekend in New York. The

final date for entries is 21 March, with the winner to be announced in

early April.

All entries must meet Radio Advertising Copy Clearance rules. For

further details, call: 01628-666039.
