CNN’s new London-based sales director Lawson Muncaster has kicked

off his expansion programme by appointing two senior staff.

Brett Marshall and Melissa Whitty have joined CNN as sales managers.

They will work alongside existing sales manager Justin Halliley and will

cover the UK, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Muncaster wants to bring

the London sales team up from 12 to 16 this year.

Marshall joins the team from the Big Film Group, where he was group

sales and business development director. Previously he was head of

client marketing at Eurosport and spent ten years on the Express

Newspapers sales team.

Whitty was sponsorship and promotions manager at Clear Channel Radio

Sales, where she was primarily responsible for Jazz FM.

Muncaster said: ’CNN has always been top of the league of pan-European

advertising sales and with Brett and Melissa on board, we are moving up

another gear. As CNN pushes forward with an aggressive business plan, it

is vital that proper ad sales support is in place.’

Like Marshall, Muncaster spent time at Eurosport, where he was joint

sales director with Tom Keaveny. In his last role he was sales director

at Mills & Allen.
