Mustoe Merriman Herring Levy has beaten McCann-Erickson in a
head-to-head pitch for the pounds 3 million Viglen Computers
After a first round of credentials presentations from five agencies,
Mustoe Merriman and McCanns were asked to come up with full creative
pitches by Viglen’s marketing director, Bordan Tkachuk. Mustoe Merriman
won the account on the basis of its creative work.
The incumbent, the Stoke-based agency, LJL, did not repitch for the
Media buying is handled by Zenith Media and is unaffected by the
Viglen’s traditional heartland is in education, but it wants to broaden
its appeal to the general consumer.
Damian Horner, the business development director at Mustoe Merriman,
said: ’Viglen has no access to the customer apart from advertising, so
we must create a strong shop window through our creative work.’
