Neff hunts UK shops for advertising drive

The household appliance brand Neff is seeking an above-the-line agency ahead of a UK advertising push.

The Bosch Siemens Home Appliances-owned brand has approached an undisclosed number of agencies with an RFI document. The search is being handled by the AAR.

Media, which is handled by MediaCom, is not affected.

Neff spent £1.2 million on UK media in the 12 months to June, most of it allocated to press, according to Nielsen Media Research. A source said Neff was planning to increase its spend to £2 million.

In May, Neff's German parent company reported year-on-year growth for 2006 of 13 per cent, double that for 2005. The group retained its market-leading position in Europe with sales of EUR8.3 billion and pre-tax profits of EUR542 million, up EUR42 million on the previous year.

BSH has owned the Neff brand since 1982. In 2005, the manufacturer launched a no-frills appliance range, called Viva. BSH could not be reached for comment.
