New BBC magazine Dare unveils plans for autumn launch

BBC Magazines' new teen title, due to launch later this autumn, is to be called Dare.

The teenage lifestyle title will be published fortnightly from 22 October.

Preview issues will appear in Top of the Pops magazine on 7 October and It's Hot! on 14 October.

Dare, which targets ten- to 14-year-old girls, will be priced at £1.60 with 68 pages and its launch will be backed by in-store promotions.

The magazine will run investigative features, celebrity interviews and features on relationships and fashion.

Alfie Lewis, the publisher of Dare, said: "We set out to extend our teen portfolio with an intelligent read that doesn't compromise on entertainment value, and I think we've got it spot on. Dare has a very natural feel to it and will ensure our line-up remains unbeatable."
