NEWS: 20/20 Media wins pan-Euro business for global channel

CNN International, the global cable news channel, has appointed 20/20 Media as its first media agency of record in Europe.

Media as its first media agency of record in Europe.



20/20, which already acts in an advisory role to CNN, landed the pounds

1 million media planning and buying account without a competitive pitch.

CNN has previously planned and bought media in-house.



20/20’s brief spans trade advertising - to raise awareness of the

channel within the advertising and marketing community - and consumer

advertising which aims to increase penetration among upmarket adults in

Europe.



The appointment comes as CNN, which is owned by the US communications

giant, Turner International, gears up for an increased marketing effort

in the pan-European television market.



Paul Woolmington, the managing director of 20/20, said: ‘The initial

focus is on trade advertising. It is great to be working with CNN.’
