NEWS: Abbott Mead starts up new-media arm with three-way deal

The Abbott Mead Vickers group has launched a joint-venture new-media company with its wholly owned PR operation, Freud Communications, and a Los Angeles-based technology specialist, House of Blues New Media.

Traffic Interactive claims to be the first new-media operation to

integrate online production with both online and offline promotion. The

partners have already collaborated on a number of projects, including

the recent Supergrass gig at the Astoria in London which was broadcast

live on Vladivar Vodka’s World Wide Web site.



Matthew Freud, the chairman of Freud Communications, said: ‘Whatever you

are doing online, it is infinitely more important to shout about it

offline.’



A full-time chief executive is currently being sought for the company.

In the meantime, Alex Johnston, the creative director at Freuds, will be

the acting chief executive officer. Peter Mead, the chairman of AMV, is

expected to take a seat on the board.
