NEWS: BANC set to handle TV ad campaign as Lindt plans UK push

Lindt, the Swiss chocolate maker, is believed to have appointed Robert Bean’s new agency, Bean Andrews Norways Cramphorn, to handle the first stage of its bid to become a major player in the UK confectionery market.

Lindt, the Swiss chocolate maker, is believed to have appointed Robert

Bean’s new agency, Bean Andrews Norways Cramphorn, to handle the first

stage of its bid to become a major player in the UK confectionery

market.

Bean was unavailable for comment, but sources say his agency has got the

nod to produce a TV campaign.

The assignment is understood to be a ‘one-off’ with the likelihood that

Lindt will make a more permanent agency appointment once plans and

budgets for the UK have been finalised.

It was disclosed earlier this year that Lindt, which had been working

with the Symington Company, was talking to small- and medium-sized shops

about a campaign backed by a reported budget of pounds 500,000

(Campaign, 17 May).

Lindt is already a major advertiser in other European markets but has

never been a big spender in the UK.

Bean Andrews Norways Cramphorn was born out of the former Bean MC two

months ago.
