Bell Cablemedia, the UK’s third largest cable operator, has appointed

Davies Little Cowley to handle creative work to kick off an aggressive

effort to raise its profile.

The agency will work in tandem with the media independent, Upward Jamie

Brown, on a pounds 350,000 spring campaign, the first part of a pounds 2

million initiative for 1996.

The work will highlight the company’s three main services - cable TV,

residential phones and business communications - and is being promoted

via a 48-sheet national poster campaign on the theme ‘Connecting you to

better things’.

The company also claims to have broken new ground by being the first to

advertise on the outside of train carriage doors, using the Docklands

Light Railway.

Davies Little’s appointment follows a series of projects for the company

and a pitch against Rodney Fitch and Bean MC.

Don Cowley, the agency’s managing director, said: ‘This is the most

important campaign we’ve done for Bell Cablemedia. Until now, cable

companies have been significantly unsuccessful in promoting themselves

and Bell Cablemedia is addressing the problem.’
