BST-BDDP has been appointed to handle the first UK-created ads for Vidal
Sassoon hair appliances.
Launched in the UK last year, the brand has been allocated a pounds 1
million spend in the run-up to Christmas. BST’s new work will replace
ads that were created by the Dallas agency, Latitude, and imported from
Media will be handled by Booth Lockett Makin, which was responsible for
taking Latitude’s work for the appliances range on to UK TV for the
first time last November.
BST was appointed by Kevin James, the managing director of (HOT) UK,
which markets Vidal Sassoon hair appliances. He said: ‘We looked at
several agencies, but BST has come up with a totally unexpected idea.’
BST’s chairman Paul Bainsfair added: ‘Most of the advertising in this
sector is formulaic; we think our work will be positively disruptive.’
Details of the work were not available, but it is thought that the
photographers, the Douglas Brothers, will be hired.
