Carlton UK Sales, the sales house for Carlton and Central Television, is

beefing up its non-terrestrial TV sales by taking over the contract for

two new stations.

Carlton Cable and Satellite Sales, the division headed by David

Sanderson, this week snatched the contract to sell ad airtime on the

cable jukebox channel, the Box, and the Travel Channel.

The sales contract was previously held by Scott Lynds. Carlton’s non-

terrestrial sales division already handles sales for SelecTV and Live TV

- contracts also previously held by Scott Lynds.

Carlton moved into the market in January by acquiring SelecTV’s cable

channel. Carlton is also in talks with a number of other cable

television stations.

The sales operation is aiming to become the main airtime sales house for

UK cable television.

Sanderson commented: ‘It’s our intention to represent a portfolio of the

best-resourced, most clearly focused cable channels.’
