Damon Hill, Britain’s leading Formula One racing driver, has teamed up
with Murray Walker, the sport’s high-octane TV commentator, in a fresh
burst of celebrity advertising for Pizza Hut.
Hill makes his advertising debut on national TV this Friday in the third
ad in a series featuring famous faces.
The new film, which will run for five weeks, takes an affectionate swipe
at Walker’s extrovert style as he insists on providing a running
commentary on the pizza meal he and Hill are sharing.
The commercial further distances Pizza Hut from the ‘hit the hut’
campaign through Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters. It falls into line with
the chain’s global strategy, which has been adopted in the UK since

promoting high standards of service and product quality through
Cilla Snowball, the Abbott Mead client services director, said: ‘Walker
and Hill are popular and instantly recognisable, and they were very keen
to do the film. There’s no doubt that the advertising has caused
consumers to re-appraise the brand and is bringing lapsed users back.’
