Faulds Advertising is celebrating the longest day of the year this week

with a press campaign to promote the extra daylight hours north of the

border.

The ad, for the Scottish Tourist Board, shows one of London’s ubiquitous

tourist postcards - a totally blacked out card bearing the words,

‘London by night’.

Below this is placed Faulds’ ‘Scotland by night’ version, which shows a

beautiful Highlands landscape.

The ad reminds Londoners how long it remains light in Scotland in the

summer - in the far north it does not get dark until 11.30pm. The copy

reads: ‘You can enjoy everything for longer in Scotland.’

The ad will run on Friday 21 June in the London Evening Standard, and

then in Time Out, the Guardian and the Times. Media on the account is

also handled by Faulds.

The ad was written by Pete Bastiman and art directed by Brian McGregor,

with photography by Colin Prior.

Lorna Easton, the director of UK marketing for the Scottish Tourist

Board, said: ‘We wished to remind people of the light, the big skies,

and the sunsets.’
