NEWS: Goudard quits Euro RSCG for senior role at BBDO

Jean-Michel Goudard, the hard-hitting international president of Euro

RSCG, is leaving Europe’s largest agency group to take up a similar role

at the US-based BBDO Worldwide.

He will not be directly replaced at Euro RSCG where, as the ‘G’ of RSCG,

he masterminded the agency’s development outside France.

Under his direction, the Euro RSCG network also opened operations in

Eastern Europe, China, India and Latin America and achieved a tenfold

increase in international profits.

Goudard’s move will take him from Paris to BBDO’s headquarters in New

York, where he will become international president from February and

join the main board as one of the top four executives.

He will work directly with the worldwide chief executive, Allen

Rosenshine, and be responsible for all regions except North America in

what is a newly created post within the BBDO network.

Mark Wnek, executive creative director of Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, said:

‘We are sorry to see him go but he has left a great legacy.’

A recent string of personnel changes will help Euro share out his

responsibilities. The American, Steve Dworin, is joining as a vice-

chairman to look after Goudard’s Procter and Gamble role, while Alain

Cayzac, Goudard’s fellow founder, will soon be free to take on a role at

the group’s holding company which Goudard handled previously. Nick Baum,

who was taken on earlier this year to run Europe except for France, is

slated to expand his role to cover Euro’s native country as well.

A reorganisation of the network giving more power to the regions is set

to take place at the end of the year.

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off the inaugural issue of Campaign's monthly print offering than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
