NEWS: Grey and BMP DDB fight it out for pounds 1m Autoglass account

Autoglass, the windscreen replacement specialist, is reviewing its pounds 1 million account, currently handled by Grey Advertising.

Autoglass, the windscreen replacement specialist, is reviewing its

pounds 1 million account, currently handled by Grey Advertising.

Grey repitched for the business on Thursday in a head-to-head against

BMP DDB. The review follows the appointment of Alastair Clark as the new

marketing director in October 1995.

A spokesman for Autoglass confirmed that the account was up for review

but declined to discuss marketing spend for the coming year.

Autoglass appointed Clark with a brief to strengthen the company’s

brand by using advertising, public relations, direct mail and point-of

sale promotions at the company’s 210 branches. He has a pounds 6 million

marketing budget.

The managing director of Grey, Nigel Sharrocks, was unavailable for

comment as Campaign went to press.

Grey won the Autoglass account in May 1992.
