NEWS: HHCL recruits to fill new team roles as integrated takes off

Howell Henry Chaldecott Lury, the agency that turned its back on

traditional agency structures, has created a new role within its project

teams to cope with the extra demands of integrated communications

accounts.

HHCL has split the role of account director for each of its six core

multidisciplinary project teams - HHCL’s alternative to traditional

account teams - into strategy and implementation roles.

The new project managers will take on the implementation functions,

while the

account directors will focus exclusively on strategy.

HHCL’s managing partner, Robin Azis, said the move was sparked by the

increasing workload that has been generated by the agency’s growing

number of integrated communication accounts.

‘Until recently we would produce a couple of ad campaigns a year for a

client like Tango. When we moved into integrated communications, we

found we needed extra resources as we were doing five campaigns,

posters, on-pack promotions, and PR type events for Tango, ’Azis said.

Azis has already hired four project managers: Aminah Hart from the

Australian agency, Republic Advertising; Tracey Larcombe from Travis

Sennet Sully Ross; Jenny Deeming from McCann-Erickson Manchester; and

Keiron Matthews from McCann-Erickson London.

Azis is recruiting two further project managers.
