NEWS: Intel crowns a trio of Euro RSCG wins

Euro RSCG has captured the dollars 120 million Intel account, pulling off a worldwide media and creative coup worth at least pounds 7 million in the UK.

Euro RSCG has captured the dollars 120 million Intel account, pulling

off a worldwide media and creative coup worth at least pounds 7 million

in the UK.



Intel, the world’s biggest manufacturer of computer chips, was formerly

handled by Publicis and Optimedia in Europe and a variety of agencies in

the rest of the world.



The media will now be handled by Mediapolis both in Continental Europe

and parts of Asia. Mediastar will run the UK account until Mediapolis

opens its doors here later this year.



The win follows Euro RSCG’s acquisition of a majority interest in Dahlin

Smith White, the Salt Lake City, Utah, agency that has held the Intel

account in the US for six years.



DSW, which specialises in hi-tech accounts, plans to open a San

Francisco office, which will significantly increase Euro RSCG’s presence

on the West Coast.



Microsoft, the computer software manufacturer and a major international

client of Euro RSCG, has been informed of the Intel win.



Brett Gosper, the chief executive of Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, insisted:

‘The two clients are different companies, working in different areas.

There is a convergence of technologies, but no conflict of interest.’



The appointment crowns a trio of victories for Euro RSCG this week.



The agency has also snatched the pounds 2 million Evian business from

TBWA, which has held the account for the past ten years, and taken

Procter and Gamble’s pan-European Clearasil business from D’Arcy Masius

Benton and Bowles.
