News International hires new media sales house chief

- News International has appointed TSMSi director and general manager, Paul Simon, as the new commercial manager of News International Internet Publishing.

- News International has appointed TSMSi director and general manager, Paul Simon, as the new commercial manager of News International Internet Publishing.

Simon will be responsible for managing the Times and Sunday Times website and for developing News International's online strategy. Although there is no direct replacement for him at the TSMSi, sales manager Vic Synott will take over as sales director.

TSMSi was appointed earlier this year to handle the Times and Sunday Times sales.

According to Simon: "TSMSi will continue to play an important part in the ambitious plans that News International has for its online equity."
