Kelly Weedon Shute has clinched a place on the Unilever roster by
beating BMP DDB Needham to the pounds 2.5 million pan-European Sensiq
Sensiq is a make-up range owned by Rimmel Chicogo - a Unilever company.
Kelly Weedon Shute also pitched against Lintas Sweden and two unknown
agencies for the business.
The campaign, to break across Europe in late spring, will promote the
Sensiq name and launch a series of brand developments and extensions,
including new packaging and products.
David Shute, a partner at Kelly Weedon Shute, commented: ‘It is a major
victory for us to get on to the Unilever roster, and it is especially
important to beat such good agencies.’
The ideas presented by the five agencies were all tested in research
projects across the UK and Europe. Shute said Kelly Weedon Shute’s ideas
were ‘outstandingly preferred’.
Shute was unable to give details of the planned poster and press
campaign, but promised it would be ‘different’ and have an international
flavour. He stressed that Sensiq was particularly concerned about
telling the truth and not making exaggerated claims.
Sensiq was launched in the UK in the late 80s in an advertising campaign
through BMP. It is now making a return to above-the-line advertising,
having concentrated on direct mail and sales promotions over the last
