NEWS: Leagas Shafron appoints Hailstone as head of account management

Susanna Hailstone, Wonderbra’s former account chief at TBWA, is to be the new head of account management at Leagas Shafron Davis.

Susanna Hailstone, Wonderbra’s former account chief at TBWA, is to be

the new head of account management at Leagas Shafron Davis.

She replaces Paul Richards, who left earlier this year to become the

managing director of Mellors Reay and Partners (Campaign, 12 April).

She arrives at Leagas Shafron after a 16-month stint as a senior account

director at Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, where she helped orchestrate the

much-publicised launch of the Peugeot 406.

Hailstone, 30, will take up her new job next month as part of plans by

Ron Leagas, the agency’s chairman, to get a new generation of senior

managers in place.

‘We have a very experienced senior management but we have to look to the

next generation,’ Leagas said.

Hailstone said: ‘I’m a fairly ambitious young lady and I’ve found I like

the people at Leagas Shafron and the place. It’s an agency that does

very good work but isn’t necessarily one that lots of people talk

about.’

Hailstone started as a secretary at Bates Dorland, moving later to Lowe

Howard-Spink. In 1989 she joined Holmes Knight Ritchie and stayed on

after its merger with TBWA two years later.

‘Susanna is one of a new breed of agency women who have avoided being

stereotyped with female products,’ Leagas added. ‘She’s been as

successful with cars as she was with Wonderbra.’

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off the inaugural issue of Campaign's monthly print offering than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
