Omnicom this week launches Paling Walters Targis, a new European

healthcare agency, which will have a presence in Germany, Spain, France,

the UK and the Benelux countries.

The new agency is part of Targis, the Omnicom-owned network of

healthcare agencies. It has been formed from a merger between Paling

Ellis, the healthcare specialist, and its sister agency, Omnicom

Healthcare.

Mike Paling, the managing director of the new agency, commented: ‘We’ve

got a fresh, new management team, new enthusiasm and a new structure.’

The creative directorship of the new agency will be taken by Frank

Walters, who held the same position at Paling Ellis. John Ellis, the

creative director of Omnicom Healthcare, will not be involved in the new

venture. Paling Walters Targis will specialise in both prescription

medicines and pharmacy products. Different account teams are being set

up to specialise in consumer brands or prescription-only medicine.

The merger has been prompted by changes in the market. Paling explained:

‘There is now a more seamless route from prescription-only medicines to

over-the-counter products. With more brands making the crossover, it

makes sense to offer clients one integrated shop for all their

projects.’
