Publicis has unveiled its first work for the Guinness cream ale brand,

Kilkenny, since winning the pounds 5 million account from Euro RSCG Wnek

Gosper in May (Campaign, 3 May).

The national poster campaign will consist of three executions, around

the strapline ‘kiss the Kilkenny’, a reference to the facial gesture

made by drinkers as they are about to drink a pint.

Two of the treatments feature close-ups of young men on the point of

drinking their pint of Kilkenny, the other shows a red-haired young

woman about to drink hers.

The poster work, which broke this week and runs for six weeks, is backed

by a TV campaign. The total media spend is pounds 7 million with media

buying through the Network.

The campaign, written by Paul Campion, and art directed by Steven Glenn,

was shot by Malcolm Venville.
