Mellors Reay and Partners is extending its senior team with the
appointment of Paul Richards, the Leagas Shafron Davis client services
director, as managing director.
Richards, 37, will join Mellors Reay within the next three months to
take control of its internal organisation and allow Carol Reay and Tim
Mellors, the agency’s principals, to build business and develop its
Richards will take over the role of managing director from Reay, who
will retain the title of chief executive.
At the same time, Chris King, the deputy managing director, becomes
vice-chairman while retaining responsibility for the development of the
agency’s Procter and Gamble and pan-European business.
Richards’ arrival marks the first significant dilution of management
responsibilities since the agency re-emerged at the beginning of last
year from the former Reay Keating Hamer under the Grey group umbrella.
It also revives the professional relationship between Richards and Tim
Mellors, who was creative director at Publicis when Richards was group
account director on Renault, Harp lager, KP snacks and Shell oils.
