Saatchi and Saatchi has maintained its number one position in Campaign’s
annual survey of the top advertising agencies in Britain.
This year’s table, based on Register-MEAL figures for 1995, shows
Saatchis at number one despite recording a 12 per cent drop in billings
since 1994. J. Walter Thompson moved from third position in 1994 to
number two for 1995, with a six per cent increase in billings, while
Ogilvy and Mather moves up one place to number three with a 7 per cent
billings increase. Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO is fourth, failing to repeat
1994’s success of taking second place, with no recorded percentage
change in billings from 1994.
Arc Advertising, WWAV Rapp Collins, M&C Saatchi and St Luke’s are the
new entries in the Top 30 table. M&C Saatchi stormed into the league
table at number 20 with Register-MEAL billings of pounds 65 million.
Zenith Media, TMD Carat and BMP DDB Needham remain first, second and
third in the Top 50 media shops table.
For the first time, Campaign is publishing a table of the top 20
business-to-business agencies, a joint project with the Association of
Business to Business agencies.
