St Luke’s has plundered the ranks of Ogilvy and Mather’s Ford team in its search for a new account director to handle the agency’s Boots and Radio 1 business.

St Luke’s has plundered the ranks of Ogilvy and Mather’s Ford team in

its search for a new account director to handle the agency’s Boots and

Radio 1 business.



David Pemsel took up the reins at St Luke’s this week, pushing staff

numbers at the co-operative to more than 50 for the first time in its

history. All the agency’s staff are equal shareholders.



As an account director at O&M, Pemsel is best known for heading the

group that produced the Ford Escort’s popular ‘What do you do in yours?’

campaign, as well as running the Duracel account.



Charlotte Zamboni, head of client services at St Luke’s, said the search

for the right person had been thorough.



‘We spoke to more than a 100 account handlers before making this

decision. David has an unorthodox background and his attitude towards

account handling is really refreshing,’ she said.



Pemsel began his career as a freelance commercial photographer before

working at Hutchison Telecom. He was at O&M for three years.



Pemsel said he had long been an admirer of St Luke’s so when an

opportunity to join arose he ‘jumped at it’.
