Nokia has launched a TV campaign for its new N8 smartphone.
The ad features Gary Waite, a blind photographer, taking pictures in Blackpool using the phone. The film follows him as he takes photos of the pier, the rollercoaster, the pleasure beach and someone’s manicured hands.
The ad, by Wieden & Kennedy London, was created by (creative directors) Mark McCall and Richard Dorey and creatives Jon Matthews, Richard Dorey and Mark MCcall. Waite’s photos will also feature in a national poster campaign.
The ad was directed by Anthony Dickenson through Pulse. Post-production was by Rushes. Photographer Waites learned his skill on a course with PhotoVoice, a charity. He said: "The advice I’d give sighted photographers is sometimes to close your eyes and see how you get on. It would make you think less about things."
