Nursing Times goes online and chases recruitment clients

Emap Healthcare has launched Nursing Times online with what it claims is the largest searchable database of jobs in the nursing field.

Emap Healthcare has launched Nursing Times online with what it

claims is the largest searchable database of jobs in the nursing

field.

NursingTimes.net includes careers advice, profiles of employers, news,

features and an online discussion forum. It provides a number of links

to key health sites around the world. Nurses can also apply for jobs

online.

Group business development manager David Bell and a sales executive will

initially sell ads on the site, although the team is expected to

grow.

Recruitment ads printed in the magazine will automatically appear

online, although clients can pay more to place banner ads or have their

section highlighted.

’Recruitment is the core of the site,’ said Bell. ’The ability to search

for the right job is where the net really comes into its own.’

Bell added that the site would also give display advertisers access to

half a million nurses, 91 per cent of whom are women.

A typical user would be in her thirties, have ten years’ nursing

experience and be either married or living with a partner. Bell expects

the site to attract interest from companies promoting consumer goods and

services such as cars, holidays and insurance alongside the usual

professional products.

NursingTimes.net editor Andrew Heenan commented: ’We have created a

website that will help nurses in all aspects of their professional

lives, whether they’re looking for research on the latest practices or a

new job.’

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off Campaign's relaunch than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
