O&M appoints new senior planners to bolster department

Ogilvy & Mather has beefed up its planning department with a series of senior appointments to the agency.

Olivia Johnson, the former head of planning at BMP DDB, is joining as a planning partner to handle Lever Faberge's Dove business. She will share responsibility for the global account with the European brand director, Daryl Fielding. Together they will manage a team of four planners.

Johnson left BMP last year to take time out of the industry and the appointment marks her return to advertising.

She is joined by Helen Firth, a senior planner from Bartle Bogle Hegarty, who had worked on Olivio. Firth will also take the title of planning partner, and will have responsibility for the agency's Nestle business.

The third planning partner appointment is Howard Miller, a senior board planner at Publicis working on Renault. At O&M, he will run the Ford account.

The current planner, Simon Galvin, is moving over to look after BP.
