O&M poaches Sally Netherwood from Grey

Ogilvy & Mather has hired Sally Netherwood, a board account

director at Grey, to be its new head of account management.

Daryl Fielding, O&M’s managing partner and client services director,

will retain her job title but will focus on the agency’s Ford

business.

Richard Pinder, O&M’s managing director, said: ’Daryl will work mainly

on Ford because that is what the client wants. She will also focus on

client retention ideas across the agency.’

The decision to hire Netherwood fits with the vision of the agency’s new

chairman, Paul Simons, who is keen to give staff clearly defined

roles.

Pinder said: ’It’s one step of a number that will allow senior people to

focus. We keep talking about being the biggest and the best so we have

to hire who we think is the best. Sally is the best I’ve worked with in

this area.’

Pinder first hired Netherwood from Young & Rubicam when he worked at

Grey in 1993.

At Grey, Netherwood worked on Mars petfoods and Lenor and she was behind

the relaunch of Fairy Liquid. Most recently, she has been running

Procter & Gamble’s Febreze account across Europe. She was the number-two

to the group managing director, Steve Richards.

Fielding joined O&M last February from BMP DDB, where she was a board

account director.
