Ogilvy joint creative directors Ordendaal and Cooper join AR

Agency Republic, the Omnicom-owned integrated shop, has hired its first interactive creative directors.

James Cooper and Pierre Ordendaal join from Ogilvy Interactive, where they were the joint creative directors.

Agency Republic, which creates digital, direct and above-the-line work, has not previously had specialist interactive creative directors. Its former creative director, Rob Scott, had control of the whole creative department.

Scott left the agency several months ago and Agency Republic will name a successor shortly. Cooper and Ordendaal will report to the new creative director, but will take responsibility for the agency's digital work, which accounts for 45 per cent of its output.

During their time at Ogilvy, Cooper and Ordendaal have created work for clients including Jaguar, IBM, Royal Mail and Ford. They have worked across online advertising, website design and interactive TV.

Martin Brooks, the managing director of Agency Republic, said: "Everything we work on is integrated, with everyone working on things conceptually, but there is a need when we come to executions for fine craft skills in each area."
