OMD leads UK entries for Cannes Media Lions

OMD UK leads a field of 18 hopefuls vying for success in the Media Lions category at Cannes.

The Omnicom agency has four entries on the shortlist, three for its work for Channel 4: two for "Humans" and one for "Hunted".

OMD UK was also shortlisted alongisde The Lad Bible for the "Summerbible" campaign for Doritos, which challenged people to make the most of summer with a 12-hour challenge.

Its sister agency Manning Gottlieb OMD has two entries shortlisted for its John Lewis/Age UK campaign, "A ground-breaking partnership to combat loneliness", while fellow Omnicom shop PHD also has two entries on the list for Sainsburys’ "Sharing the gift of reading at Christmas".

Group M shops with two entries on the Media Lions shortlist include Mindshare (two entries for Jaguar Land Rover’s "Feel Wimbledon") and Maxus (two entries for "#TakeAPause" by Bank of Montreal).

Creative agencies are also in the running, with two shortlisted entries for McCann, which created Microsoft XBox's "Survival billboard" and Grey London's "The ivory burn" work for WildAid.

The US leads the way with the most entries on the 267-strong shortlist, with 53, followed by Australia on 33 and the UK on 26.
