Online advertising service to ease UK pitching processes

An internet service that will link agencies to prospective clients - and speed up the research needed to draw up pitchlists - is being introduced into the UK.

An internet service that will link agencies to prospective clients

- and speed up the research needed to draw up pitchlists - is being

introduced into the UK.



The online system will allow advertisers contemplating a review to run

instant checks on agencies for possible conflicting business, get

details of billings and key personnel and view commercials.



The service, which is called Adforum.com, is a joint venture between

Agency Assessments International and Maydream.



As a result of the deal, AAI has hired Ann Harris, the former Publicis

marketing director, who will combine promoting the service with her

other work as a marketing and PR consultant.



Around 200 agencies - about half of them networks - have signed up to go

online. Maydream hopes to build this into a database of 12,000 agencies

in Europe and the US. All will have their basic details entered free of

charge and will pay a dollars 2,000 annual subscription for a more

sophisticated offering.



David Wethey, AAI’s managing director, said: ’Nobody else is doing

anything like this. It’s going to make life a lot better for agencies.’
