Online department store names online and offline agencies

- BrandsForLess.com, a new Internet-based department store, has appointed Modem Media.Poppe Tyson and North Castle Partners.

- BrandsForLess.com, a new Internet-based department store, has appointed Modem Media.Poppe Tyson and North Castle Partners.

The agencies will handle BrandsForLess.com's interactive and traditional marketing and advertising respectively. Billings for the business were not disclosed.

Modem Media.Poppe Tyson will develop an interactive marketing campaign, which will include negotiating alliance agreements with several major portals and content sites and creating media plans as well as purchasing online media.

North Castle Partners will create BrandsForLess.com's traditional advertising, and will work on a campaign which will include television, print and on radio in effort to establish the online store as a premier online shopping destination.

BrandsForLess.com, the South Norwalk Connecticut based operation, was founded in November 1997 Growth Capital Partners, a venture capital firm that has invested in several successful Internet companies.
