Orange has lured Lizzie Palmer, the former marketing director of

Capital Radio, to replace Rob Furness as its head of brand

marketing.

Furness is to take on increased responsibility for Orange’s

e-communications.

Palmer, whose most recent job was as acting vice-president of creative

services for Discovery Networks, has been appointed on a contract

basis.

One of her first tasks will be to see through the review of Orange’s

pounds 32 million creative account, which began in March.

The pitchlist for the business has been narrowed down to Lowe Lintas &

Partners and TBWA GGT Simons Palmer. The incumbent, WCRS, is still in

the frame for the account, but is not pitching for the business, which

it has held since 1993.

Palmer has had some influence on the process, and a result is expected

soon.
