LONDON (Brand Republic) - Pepsi has signed up hip-hop star Wyclef Jean in a year-long deal to promote its Pepsi-Cola brand.
Wyclef will appear in two ads, the first of which launches next week, on MTV and other US TV networks. Wyclef has recorded his own version of the Joy of Pepsi song for the campaign, which will be featured in the TV and radio commercials and on the Pepsi website.
The ads are created by Uniworld Group, New York, the largest African/American-owned ad firm in the US. The agency, which is 49% owned by the WPP Group, has worked for Pepsi for three years.
