Pester quits O&M to handle planning at Foote Cone Belding

level by hiring Jan Pester, Ogilvy and Mather’s head of strategic and

creative planning.



Pester will take over responsibility for planning on FCB’s

Kimberly-Clark business, as well as helping to develop the agency’s

ongoing Mood of the Nation research programme.



The switch reunites Pester with the tissue manufacturer which once

employed her as a marketing manager. It also marks a return to FCB where

she was previously an account director on Dulux.



The appointment of Pester, 48, ends a three-month search by the

agency.



Her recruitment is in response to FCB’s appointment to handle

Kimberly-Clark’s newly acquired Andrex business as well as the pounds 18

million Tambrands European programme.



’The Andrex and Tambrands wins convinced us that we needed more

high-level help,’ Chris Rendel, FCB’s managing director, said. ’Both the

brands are not only international but they have specific domestic

creative requirements.’



Pester’s agency career began at J. Walter Thompson. She later joined

Leagas Delaney as a board account director where she was involved in a

successful pitch for Coopers and Lybrand, later becoming the consultancy

firm’s first marketing director.
