Tesco: the incumbent is Initiativefew
Tesco’s monster media review took a dramatic twist when competing agencies were given a week’s warning ahead of a pitch to be held last Saturday. It is understood that the retail giant wanted to test the participants’ agility and flexibility, killing any hopes of a family weekend. The long-term incumbent, Initiative, remains in contention, alongside WPP’s MediaCom and M/SIX, as well as ZenithOptimedia.
Pitches for Transport for London are not taking place in the next few weeks, as previously reported. In fact, TfL has yet to publish its notice through the Official Journal of the European Union, but agencies should keep their eyes peeled over the next few weeks. The media and creative reviews are expected to be run concurrently. TfL is working with AAR on the process.

Another clarification: Audible, the Amazon audiobook platform, actually heard pitches for its ad account, not its digital and social media business, last week. Agencies should be put out of their misery shortly, following a process through AAR.
