Pitch Update

Freeview has shortlisted Leo Burnett, The Red Brick Road and Wieden & Kennedy to pitch for its £10 million advertising account.

The pitch is being handled through the AAR and, among other things, will pit Leo Burnett's executive creative director, Justin Tindall, against his old mates at The Red Brick Road. Previous incumbent, 18 Feet & Rising, is not repitching.

The Carling advertising pitch is now down to the final two after the beer brand revealed that it was taking Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and VCCP's work into research. The move eliminates Fallon and McCann London from the running. An appointment is expected before the end of the month.

Littlewoods' £9 million advertising pitch is kicking off in earnest. Tissue meetings are currently under way, with the pitch scheduled to take place in two weeks' time. The previous incumbent on the business, Leo Burnett, is not repitching for the account.

Things seem to be picking up a little on the media side of things but agencies continue to scratch their heads in frustration as they attempt to work out which FMCG dairy client is set to issue a brief for its £30 million media business. Speculation is heating up as the focus markets are billed as Italy, the UK and the Netherlands. Even the auditor Fairbrother Lenz Eley claims not to know who it is.
