Pitch Update

Burger King has decided on a shortlist for its UK and Ireland ad pitch and, wait for it, it's a whopper. CHI & Partners, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mother, Adam & Eve and The Red Brick Road are all thought to be involved. Pitches will take place later in the summer following the recent appointment of the new Burger King marketing director, Jo Blundell.

Following the news that Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and VCCP had made it down to the final two on the Carling pitch, it has emerged that there may be a third agency hoping to spoil the party. Spies suggest that the agency is none other than Beattie McGuinness Bungay, the incumbent on the account. The agency is said to have been given a chance by Molson Coors to impress its client with some new ideas.

After a slow build-up, Eurostar appears to be making quick work of its statutory media review. Following responses to an RFI, the cross-Channel train company is thought to have shortlisted Arena Media to pitch against the incumbent, Vizeum.

Meanwhile, UM London, Vizeum and MPG Media Contacts have been busy pitching for the insurance provider Hiscox this week. Crayon, the incumbent on the £3 million account, completes its contract in mid-July.

And there still seems to be no destination in sight for the BMW media review. UM London and the incumbent, Vizeum, are the agencies that are still hanging on for a decision.

1 Why creative people have lost their way
