The advertising review by BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, has been put on hold for a short period as the client looks to determine its budget and the pitch brief. However, agencies involved in the process shouldn't fear, as the corporation doesn't expect it to be long before proceedings re-commence.
Elsewhere, the £12 million WeightWatchers review is finally making headway, with the competing UK agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, Dare and Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R getting toned up for pitches next week. The incumbent, McCann London, is not repitching for the business.
Agencies pitching for the advertising for Diageo's range of ready-made cocktails, which includes Smirnoff Mojito and Cuervo Margarita, are making their final presentations this week. The shortlist includes the start-up Johnny Fearless, VCCP and Iris.
Finally, the incumbent agencies Media-Com, OMD and MediaVest are on alert as part of the continuing global review by Comcast of its £900 million media business, which includes Universal Home Entertainment and Universal Pictures. Conversations on pricing are currently being held centrally in the US, while a final shoot-out is sketched in for four weeks' time.
