Media agencies pitching for Axa are breathing a sigh of relief. Having been informed that they had only two weeks to answer no fewer than eight briefs, they have now been given a reprieve - it might only be for one extra week, though.

Mystery pitch alert! Mystery pitch alert! Apparently, there's a £10 million to £12 million advertiser looking for a media agency, but we have no idea who.

Hats off to Wieden & Kennedy. Someone seems to have placed a rocket up its new-business arse. It's shot up the new-business performance league from 30th to seventh place with recent wins from Visa, Nokia and The Observer.

Argh! As Campaign went to press, there was still no news on which network had won what on the giant, global Johnson & Johnson media pitch. However, insiders report the pressure on the beauty giant to reduce costs is acute: it paid $17 billion for Pfizer last year. So before the triumphant shops begin boasting about their pan-regional strategic acumen, let's not forget that price is sure to be an important factor in J&J's agency selection.

Gocompare.com is said to have been approaching media shops. However, sources say that it's been under-whelmed by what it has found, and will most likely stay with Zed.

MindShare, Carat and ZenithOptimedia are fighting for Mattel's global media business, with a new agency expected to be announced during September.

Digital marketing executives oversee the online marketing strategy for their organisation. They plan and execute digital (including email) marketing campaigns and design, maintain and supply content for the organisation's website(s).
