Pitch update

The pitches for a couple of price comparison sites roll on, with both Confused.com and Moneysupermarket.com reaching the final stages.

While Fallon and Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy are waiting with bated breath for an outcome on the latter, which is expected by Friday, Beattie McGuinness Bungay, McCann Erickson and Iris are still in the running for Confused.com, but will have to wait another two to three weeks for a result.

And after initial chemistry meetings, it seems like the shortlist for the Warburtons advertising business has been whittled down to just two agencies.

Speculation has been rife that the account is on its way to Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, due to Richard Exon's relationship with Jonathan Warburton (Exon used to work at Bartle Bogle Hegarty, the incumbent). But Delaney Lund Knox Warren, the other agency pitching for the business, will be keen to make sure that isn't the case.

COI has again delayed making a decision on the winner of its sexual health pitch and has now put the decision back by another week, leaving VCCP and M&C Saatchi in limbo.

The Engine Group, M&C Saatchi, Dye Holloway Murray and Hurrell Moseley Dawson & Grimmer are lined up to pitch for the Corinthia Hotels account, which is set to take place next week. The pitching shops have been given a sneak peek at the as yet unopened new hotel in Trafalgar Square to give them a greater insight into the brand.

The Universal Music pan-European media review, which began in January, drags on as the head-to-head between Carat and the incumbent, MediaCom, intensifies. The client appears to be in no hurry and may even make agencies wait until mid-October for a result.

But the Mars-Wrigley £63 million media buying review has officially kicked off. A brief has been issued and agencies will be pitching in the early part of October.
