Practical Action, the development charity that aims to enhance lives in some of the world's poorest areas, has called a review of its direct marketing business, currently handled by EHS 4D.

The charity has already approached a number of agencies to work on a below-the-line warm donor brief to raise more funds, but the Havas incumbent agency is believed to have declined to re-pitch.

In March, the charity appointed TDA to handle part of its digital and direct marketing activity.

The agency won the business without a pitch. It was tasked with focussing on implementing a new marketing strategy to broaden Practical Action's audience and test new approaches to fundraising.

EHS has worked with Practical Action since 2006 and won the pitch following a three-way pitch against Whitewater and Bright.

At the time the agency was briefed with developing the charity's plans for integrated acquisition and strengthening donor development and retention programmes.
