Premier Media wins contract to publish Airtours inflight title

Premier Media Partners has added to its portfolio of in-flight magazines by winning the contract to publish the Airtours magazine Hot.

The contract, which was won in a four-way pitch, also includes Airtours’

other customer publications such as its inflight shopping catalogue.



Advertising for Hot will be overseen by Jonathan Cupper, senior sales

manager of Premier Media Partners’ inflight magazines arm, Premier Air

Plus.



Aside from Hot, Cupper’s division houses the award-winning British

Airways title High Life as well as contract magazines for Virgin, Air

France, BA’s low cost airline Go and Lufthansa.



Premier Media Partners, part of the Omnicom marketing group, will

publish Hot twice a year. The publication is to have a circulation of

400,000.



Helen Maher, the former editor of One Line Guide for Go, will edit the

magazine. Mark Jones, the editor of High Life, has also been brought on

board as Hot’s editorial director.



Airtours is the world’s largest provider of package holidays. The

company carries eight million passengers a year to 65 destinations in 17

countries.



Jones commented on the win: ’The days of a few articles cobbled together

with a celebrity front cover are over as far as customer magazines

go.



Hot will be a very exciting and entertaining read and will help air

passengers start enjoying their Airtours holiday as soon as they open

the front cover.’
