Profero wins Sportal, Carlton Online and Blackstar accounts

Profero has scored a new-business hat-trick by picking up contracts from Sportal, Carlton Online and the online DVD and video supplier Blackstar.

Sportal, the European sports network, has appointed Profero to plan and

buy online media across the Continent, including the UK, Germany, France

and Spain.The agency will also handle creative for banner

advertising.



Carlton Online has tasked Profero to undertake planning and buying for

its family of websites. They are the movie site Popcorn, online games

site Jamba and food and drink site Simply Food.



Profero won the account after taking part in a pitch against three other

agencies.



Blackstar has signed up Profero to a full-time planning/buying contract.

The DVD and video e-tailer has used the interactive media company on an

ad hoc basis but is now planning a series of promotional drives over the

coming months.



Agency director Daniel Estrin said: ’All three companies have solid

business strategies and the potential to be number one in their fields.

The work ahead is exciting and challenging, involving the talent of our

creative, technical and media teams.’



Profero launched in 1998 and claims to have run more online advertising

campaigns than any other agency. The company is run by two sets of

brothers including Jamie Estrin, who oversees marketing, and Daniel

Estrin, who is in charge of buying. Names on its client list include

BSkyB, Reed Recruitment, Emap Metro and Excite.
