Publicis London appoints Savage as joint head of strategy

Publicis London has strengthened its strategy team with the appointment of Darren Savage, a planning partner at Adam & Eve/DDB.

He will join in the next couple of months and will become the joint head of strategy alongside Kari Freeburn.

Savage moved to Adam & Eve/DDB last year. Before that, he co-founded VCCP’s innovation division Studio Ex review Nihilo, which was launched in March 2014 to help Sony and Telefónica/O2 adapt to technological change.

Savage was previously the executive planning director at R/GA, where he helped set up the London office.

He has also overseen strategic planning at AKQA and worked at Bartle Bogle Hegarty and DDB.

Savage is the first senior planner to be hired in London since Dylan Williams was appointed as the global chief strategy and innovation officer a year ago, moving from Mother.

Williams said: "As London looks to fully round its integrated offering, it needs full-stack strategists such as Darren to lead the way. There aren’t many in business with his track record and I have every confidence that he will make that experience count."
