For those who thought the director, Tarsem, was joking when he
compared himself to Picasso in the Commercials Book (Feature, 27
February) here's the text in full: 'When I was at film school, a guy
asked me: 'What should I read, what should I look at so that I can
improve my work?' I told him it was the wrong question. I know it's a
cliche, but it's like when Picasso was asked how he dared to charge so
much for a painting that only took 30 minutes. He answered that it
actually took him 45 years and 30 minutes.'
