Rajar hires O’Hara to replace Jenkins as managing director

its new managing director.

O’Hara will join Rajar at the end of May this year and takes over from

Peter Jenkins, who leaves the organisation after three years as

executive director. He is leaving to operate as a consultant within the

radio business.

O’Hara has worked in radio for over 20 years and started out at MBS


A string of senior marketing and research positions followed, including

jobs at Katz International, CLT UK Radio Sales and Talk Radio, where she

was marketing director.

More recently, O’Hara has operated as a consultant for organisations

including the RAB, BBC Worldwide and Merlin Communications.

She also served on radio industry committees such as Rajar management,

JICRIT and the RAB research group.

John Witney, chairman of Rajar, said that with the increasing number of

radio stations requiring analysis, another member of staff was required

to undertake a full-time research position alongside O’Hara.

O’Hara commented on her position: ’I have used Rajar on both the buying

and selling side of the industry and as a client station. I am looking

forward to taking up the new challenges posed for Rajar, which will soon

include overseeing the next contract period and assessing the viability

of electronic measurement systems.’
