Real Media doubles sales team in midst of flotation rumours

Real Media, the online sales house rumoured to be considering flotation, has doubled the size of its sales team in response to rocketing demand.

Real Media, the online sales house rumoured to be considering

flotation, has doubled the size of its sales team in response to

rocketing demand.

Last week, the company announced it had hired six staff, taking the

total number of account managers from six to ten and was adding two

telesales staff.

Jonathan Bill, head of UK sales, said: ’We’ve seen a real growth in

traffic to our sites and we are ensuring that we stay ahead of the

market.’

’We turn down several clients every day,’ added media services director

Brian White. ’But that is not just a staffing issue,’ he stressed. ’It

is also about making sure we have the right portfolio of sites. We want

to go beyond the banner with our clients, and work in consultation with

them to develop their sites as sales tools.’

The new account managers include Charlotte Dalrymple who joins from the

Shopping Network where she was a project manager. Before that, Dalrymple

was account manager at Carat.

Richard Warburton joins Real Media from poster contractor Maiden Outdoor

where he was an account manager for three years.

Toby Dawson joins the Real Media team from Loot where he worked on both

online and offline sales.

Meanwhile, telesales executives Julian Cheevers and Daniel Owne join

from auction website QXL.com and from telecoms giant AT&T

respectively.

It is rumoured that the company may be about to reorganise before going

to market. Real Media parent company PubliGroupe this week admitted that

Real Media bosses in the US were considering floating in a bid to ride

the recent wave of market interest in internet related businesses.

White and his colleagues in the UK all refused to comment on these

rumours.
